I love romance novels with neurodivergent characters and this book is the perfect example of why. As a ND person myself, it’s so comforting to read a story where one character has qualities that some people might be put off by, like not having a filter, being very blunt, needing things done a certain way, sensory issues, and the other character loves them and is patient and accommodating and understanding. Roman was so sweet and amazing with Ezra and found him to be attractive and lovable even though other neurotypicals might think him odd. I love that neurodivergent characters tend to just say what they want and don’t like to or are simply unable to play games. I can really relate to that as someone who tends to just put my feelings out there and deal with the consequences. Ezra was a fun character too. At first he comes across as sort of innocent and childlike, but he knows exactly what he’s doing and knows how to rock his assets. I think a lot of authors portray autistic characters as being kind of childlike, which I don’t think is necessarily accurate in general, but it works here because these guys have a bit of a caretaker daddy/good boy vibe going. The only thing I didn’t love was at the beginning, Jay and Roman seem to be taking advantage of Ezra a bit with giving him the sexy football uniform and that made me a little uncomfortable. I do wonder after finishing the book if Ezra was fully aware of the effect he had on Jay and Roman in his skimpy outfit, but I don’t know. I’m not convinced. I think it would have been more fun if cleaning in a skimpy outfit was his own idea. I still loved the book though and thought it was just a really fun, sweet and sexy, low angst romance. Perfectly written and little to no angst, Thank Goodness!!!. I rarely leave a review right after reading a book. However this book is a breath of fresh air. The author's take a character development and autism was respectful and in depth. In a angst filled world, this book is literally a breath of fresh air and calm. This is my first book by the author and if they writes more books like this, they will be on auto buy!!!
